Other Health and Wellness Activities for VCU employees

Governor's Race and First Lady's Kids Run: September 23

Join Governor Ralph Northam for The Governor's Race and the First Lady's Kids Run in downtown Richmond and along the James River. The 5K promises to be a challenging urban course featuring bridges, hills, and views of the river and historic sites. All runners and walkers are welcome. Registration is limited to the first 500 participants. State employees can get $10 off the price of registration by entering the code STATE10OFF. The entry fee is $25 until August 31. After that, it will be $30. Registration is also required for the Kids Run, but instead of an entry fee, participants are asked to donate a canned food item. On-campus Weight Watchers meetings
VCU employees who participate in the Commonwealth of Virginia's "Weight Watchers at Work" program meet weekly on each campus. Meetings usually last about 30 to 45 minutes and members are encouraged to attend, however, if schedule conflicts occur, members can stop by to weigh in or attend a community meeting. ICA Offering Free Mindfulness Meditation

VCU's Institute for Contemporary Art offers mindfulness meditation sessions guided by highly experienced meditation teachers. These sessions are offered from 12 noon to 1 p.m. on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month. Sessions are free. Preregistration is requested through the ICA website
