Live events such as webinars, exercise classes and information sessions are a great way to set aside an hour or so in your day to focus on well-being topics that are most relevant to you. Wednesday, July 3rd – 12 pm

Deep Stretch

(Presented by VCU HR and VCU Recreation & Well-Being)

This is a slower 30-minute practice focused on active stretching of muscles and opening of connective tissue. Release built up tension, prevent injury, increase blood flow to muscles, and increase long-term flexibility. No equipment requirements, though a yoga mat is recommended.

Lower Body Strength

(Presented by VCU HR and VCU Recreation & Well-Being)

This 30-minute lower-body circuit training is really going to challenge your muscles with moves designed to target your quads, glutes, and hamstrings. Option to add weights or just your bodyweight.

Kickboxing

This full-body circuit training takes the basics of martial arts and adds the fun. You’ll be punching and kicking your way through 30 minutes of strength and cardio. At the end of it you’ll walk away ready to tackle the day.

Reconciling the demands of work and home life can be a source of constant tension. As a result, you may experience sleep disturbances, appetite changes, headaches, poor concentration, and irritability. Learn how to identify emotional and physical symptoms of stress, assess your own situation, and discover hands-on techniques to bring balance to your work and personal life.

Sound Bath Meditation

(Presented by VCU HR)

A Sound Bath is a form of meditation that guides you into a deep relaxation state while enveloped in ambient sound. Waves of soothing, echoing sound from crystal bowls, gong and various instruments assist the mind-body with stress and fatigue. This is an in-person session. Bring a mat or a blanket with you if you have one.

Total Body Strength

This 30-minute session will feature a variety of strengthening exercises using your own body! Designed to provide you with a total body workout hitting every major muscle group as you build muscular strength and endurance.
